It took seven long years to pry one staggering number from the hands of the federal government: that 52,529 weapons once owned by police were recovered at crime scenes across the country from 2006 to 2021. In that period, an average of nine cop guns were recovered each day. The public didn’t know it.

Police Departments save money (tax money) by trading firearms back to the manufacturers, they then get on sold

Other than the general problem that the US has with firearms, how is this a problem?

Correct me if im wrong or missed something but, They never actually say if the guns were used in crimes, only that they were sold back to the manufacturers.

      “Recovered at crime scenes”

So no, they weren’t necessarily used in the crime. Like, if my fingerprints were on a murder weapon, it doesn’t mean it did it. It’s just weird that my prints would clearly be left on a gun right before it was fired for a murder
