Hillary only needed 5% more of the registered voters to win in 2016. Biden needed less than 4%. We just need people to turn out.
In 2020, Biden received more votes in TX than NY and Trump received more votes in CA than TX.
www.votetexas.gov has everything you need for the election. You can register to vote, check your voter registration, check your polling locations and hours, and see the important dates. Voter registration must be received by Oct 7.
Polls open Oct 21-Nov 1, with a final day to vote on Nov 5. Polls will be open at least 9 hours the first week and at least 12 hours the second week and final voting day. Go in the first 2 weeks and there won’t be a long line! I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes when voting the first two weeks.
It’s definitely been getting worse. The written directions aren’t always accurate. Exits sometimes have the wrong label. Lanes are missing on the highways when they merge and separate.
I’ve also seen a similar thing with routes not always showing up or giving bad directions. It attempted to take me through a school bus barn and even through someone’s yard once.
If you’re in TX, polls will be open from Oct 21- Nov 1, with one final day to vote on Nov 5. Your voter registration must be approved on or before Oct 7 to vote in this election.
Polls will be open at least 9 hours the first week and at least 12 hours during the second week and final day to vote. Go early and you won’t have much of a line, if there’s even a line at all! We were the first state with early voting, so take advantage of it!
www.votetexas.gov has all the info you need. You can check your voter registration, find voter registration forms, see polling locations and their hours for the entire voting period, and find answers to other election questions.
This is the same guy who he insists he won in 2020 and is supposed to be sitting president now. By his logic, he’s running for a third term.
He’s also said that he will become a dictator on day one if he’s elected this year. Why would he run in 2028 if he abolishes elections or makes a loophole to stay in the White House?
Yeah the ticker bags that would last a year or so before the handles fell off were more plastic, but it was at least a step. I saw more people using cloth and other sturdy Reusable bags after a few months.
Yes in 2018, the TX Supreme Court struck down plastic bag bans in Laredo even though the small city was saving something like $250,000/year in waterway cleanup. The other cities, including Austin, that had a plastic bag ban lifted their ban after the court ruling.
It was great under the bag ban, the cities were so much cleaner. Grocery stores all had some thicker Reusable plastic bags that could be bought and would hold up for a long time as long as you didn’t overfill them. They also sold cloth bags, not to mention the people carrying Ikea bags around the stores.
They were at it at least a year before the 2016 election cycle. I believe it was the CIA that said Russia was the one that created the Jade Helm scare in 2015 through social media influence.
Jade Helm was the name of a training operation of the US military in central TX near Temple. The Russians created a bunch of posts claiming that Obama was taking over local Walmarts and emptying them of all merchandise to use as prisoners for his political opponents. They even drew diagrams of the insides of the stores with the holding cells and everything. So great was the Russian influence that Abbott (who is still Governor of TX) ordered the TX National Guard to watch the training exercise and make sure that the US military wasn’t storming homes and taking prisoners.
That definition goes with “spinning” the story. However this goes beyond just spinning and it’s much more than just whitewashing over a couple imperfections. This is completely rewriting his words and campaigning for the man.
This is taking spinning a story to a new level and “sane-washing” just doesn’t convey the weight of their actions. With these actions, the New York Times is more like Trump’s A-team campaign management. It’s almost like a reverse Dunning-Kruger Effect, where they attempt to make him look like he has ideas and substance when there isn’t any.
I don’t know if “sane-washing” is the right term. It seems more like they are working as campaign staff to spin a message out of his ramblings.
If they were interested in journalism, they’d say that Trump’s plan to lower food prices is to love rainbows and receive love from sunshine. You know, just stating the facts. The term “sane-washing” to me infers that the entity doing the sane-washing is a journalist and not a campaign staffer.
It’s much older than Clockwork Orange. The church condoned all sorts of torture during the Medieval and Renaissance periods, all sorts of evils during the Spanish Inquisition, torture and killing of Native Americans, and I’m sure many other atrocities that can be found across the globe.
The conversion camps are just the latest iteration of violence against those they consider out of line or outside of the church.
Hormone therapy is an external change to align with how someone internally identifies. Taking hormones doesn’t change how a person identifies themself.
Conversion therapy is an attempt at an internal change to align their identity with how they are perceived externally.
While I could see someone out there attempt to conflate the two, they are fundamentally different. Not to mention the data showing how HRT is helpful and conversion therapy is harmful.
Frankly, the conversion camps should all be banned due to the wide-spread use of vomit-inducing drugs, electrodes placed on the body, pornography, and shame tactics used on minors. I still can’t see why they can be legal when there are camps that strap minors to a chair, force them to view pornographic images, and shock them when they view people of the same biological sex.
Hopefully he tanks that campaign too. We need to take the trash out this election!
Yeah, they’ve been in Texas at least 20 years. Looks like they are in most of the states in the eastern half of the continental US and the states along the southern border.
Only office workers and managers are allowed to sit. If you’re in a customer-facing position with a chair, you’re supposed to stand up when helping a customer.
I thought the idea might have been planted to subvert the democrats and push voters from the polls.
Hopefully the energy behind the Harris campaign lead to her presidency and a more blue government.
So there actually is a line that she claims to not cross!
I’m sure all the fact food places will still run ads. They will just feature salads or coffee or the toy that comes with the meal, as long as if doesn’t show or talk about the junk food options.
Idk why people procrastinate and go the last day. Texas was the first state to allow early voting in person(1980). It’s been around long enought that everyone should know about it. The people I’ve talked to who don’t vote just come up with excuses about not voting and the voter apathy is really strong here. The idea that your vote doesn’t count also needs to go away, TX has been very close to turning blue for a while. In 2016, Hillary needed only 5% more of the registered voters to win TX, in 2020 Biden needed less than 4%. In fast in 2020, Biden won more votes in TX than NY and Trump won more votes in CA than TX. We are so close, people just need to look up their local polling place and get there. Some are even open on the weekends.
Edit: I’ve only waited in line once to vote, because I always vote in the first 2 weeks of voting and that was for less than 10 minutes. The long line excuse only works on the final day to vote with everyone procrastinating. The polls are typically open the same hours during the second week of voting as the last day, so there isn’t really any special reason to go on the last day.
