I thought some platforms (particularly Facebook/Instagram) will parse images for “bad” words and throttle the engagement of those posts, so people have taken to censoring themselves to avoid that.
I’m convinced those people have to be elaborate trolls. Like the flat earthers.
Hello neighbor! NC will welcome you. It’s purple here. Rural areas are not so great but closer to the bigger cities (Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Greensboro/Winston) are nice.
Sorry about your sanity.
I had a similar experience on my laptop. I tried Ubuntu which broke after trying to throw on Nvidia drivers (using the official docs). I tried Mint and Debian, both of which couldn’t detect my laptop’s wifi card (after hours of trying to fix - apparently a common issue but the fixes did not work for me!). I landed on Fedora, worked great. I’m now on EndeavourOS, but Fedora was the stepping stone I needed.
My desktop I built recently is Bazzite, which is Fedora based and I love it.
I did one of those Hey girls, did you know that um memes (and continued to make them) back in the day. Netted me niche internet micro celebrity status. I won’t tell you which one, though.
There is a long-standing history of using fried chicken and watermelon (among other foods) to negatively depict Black People in the United States. I agree that both foods are excellent (watermelon even being a popular summertime fruit that can feed a lot of people), but having them together on Juneteenth (a day of celebration for the freedom of Black People) is pretty on the nose.
I know a few people who work for companies that acknowledge and give time off for Juneteenth. My company is not such a company, though.
Spectrum, even, treats Juneteenth like any other federal holiday, like Christmas or Thanksgiving. It’s basically a volunteer-first, lottery system for who gets time off and who has to work, but those that work get extra holiday pay and the call centers try and do something extra (like catering) for those that are working.
According to my friend who works there, it was red drink.
Thanks for the info. Pretty awful.
Nazi signposting? Any examples specifically? Gave up on IH after the plagiarism deal, and I know some of his earlier content tends to lean on the edgier side of things.
Back in the early days I found Firefox to be clunkier and slower than Chrome, which was the reason for my using Chrome for well over a decade. But since Chrome became Google’s My Little Spyware, I’ve moved back to Firefox and it’s so much better. More stable, better customization, and way more privacy focused.
Someone else said it but yeah, this feels like astroturfing.
Literally last week I spent my time syncthinging my reaction image folder on my phone and PC and renaming all the files to be searchable. So yeah, maybe.
I tend to like the instance I’m on pretty well (wetdry.world). It’s not as serious and mostly everyone is a linux-using shit poster.
But I’m inclined to agree, I do miss the really funny gimmick accounts from Twitter.
Oh shit is there an abandoned one? I thought about it because I do miss SYAC. But if I do it, it’ll mean I have to start clicking on clickbait headlines…
What are some alternatives? I’ve heard Tidal is one of the better ones. I’m not necessarily opposed to piracy/ripping my CD collection + self-hosted streaming, but if I can pay someone else for the convenience I’d rather do that.
Do any services have a comparable family plan too?
If they don’t like it, they can just leave. That’s what they’ve been saying for decades, right?
This looks rad! I love gamifying life 😅
Signed up, and I hope to support this soon! I wish the development process well!
I’m building a new PC soon and today I’m trying some psychedelic mushrooms for the first time.
In early high school (15~ years ago), I went with my girlfriend at the time and her family to a local restaurant that still had one of the only smoking sections left in the city. All of her family smoked, and I couldn’t even enjoy my meal because my senses were overloaded by cigarettes. It was horrible and I’m so thankful we removed smoking indoors in the states.
