Hell I’m still trying to figure out why the spell checker changes “i’ll” to “i’LLC” every time I type it. Auto-correct on phones is just worthless and I spend far more time correcting it than I do trying to correct actual mistakes.
A person with way too many hobbies, but I still continue to learn new things.

I’m not in the least bit surprised, most of these bastards aren’t willing to live by the same rules they impose on everyone else.
Yeah that’s what made me think of this… before you go indoctrinating children against their will (and the will of the parents), maybe you should become better role-models first.
Who says he’s going to BED at 8pm? That’s ridiculous and not even vaguely implied here. Get a grip.
So now you’re just projecting what you think his schedule is? Just because he doesn’t want to have events scheduled at all hours of the night doesn’t mean he actually goes to bed at 8pm and doesn’t wake up until 11am. Any normal person needs time to eat dinner, time to unwind before going to bed. Hell I start unwinding around 7pm but don’t go to sleep until almost midnight. Maybe you’re just one of their weird people who requires zero sleep but the rest of the planet actually takes time to relax so they can get some decent sleep and be up early again the next day.
What was I thinking? Oh that’s the problem, I was thinking…
Obviously it’s time we started!
Is this supposed to be a bad thing? Honestly I don’t want the guy holding the nuclear launch codes to be making decisions on a few hours of sleep, no matter what your age is.
Since our politics cannot hold one religion above another, I say we have a scoreboard for every religion with a final board listing how good or evil each politician rates overall.
I was kinda thinking the same thing… Since we can’t trust the various networks to be equally honest about both parties, maybe we could do something on lemmy similar to how reddit does livestream news feeds, except we put the scoreboard on the side and let participants vote on new additions for each delegate.
Scoreboards have buzzers, lets make it obvious every time they ‘score’ a new sin!
So you mean all of the things that are legal for Biden to now do thanks to SCOTUS? 😆
Wouldn’t that just trigger the “thou shalt not lie” commandment? We’re not their god, we can punish them with immediate judgement.
Kinda like dealing with Microsoft Office… You can’t find anything in that “new” toolbar design because so many options are grouped together in ways that don’t make any sense. I’m so glad I never had to actually use that garbage even though I did enjoy the older versions.
It’s been a long time since I used Windows myself, however one of the big reasons for switching was the inherent instability. At once point I was developing code in Visual Studio and constantly loading/closing quite a few different programs to test things out. Windows just didn’t seem to handle memory-recovery and I would have to reboot every week or two (usually because of the whole OS locking up). In comparison, I run a variety of software on my linux machines which can involve anything from testing code in multiple browsers to image editing to 3D CAD drawings. Sure that tends to drain the memory but when I close something I get that memory back. I’ll frequently get down to the last 100K of RAM, close a couple programs that may be holding large caches (Firefox really hates me having hundreds of open tabs), and then I’m right back up and running again. Reboots may occur about every 6 months.
I have to support other people using Windows at work, which reminds me how much I’ll never go back to it. My biggest frustration is that Microsoft is constantly changing things. Hell you can’t even directly reach the control panel any more, you have to run searches to find the specific item you want. Want to check the settings of a certain printer? Good luck, that doesn’t seem to be available in the right-click menu any more. It’s just all these idiotic changes making it difficult to actually use or maintain Windows. Why should I have to google how to find something when everything used to be under the control panel or a right-click away?
It may not be a hazard in your area, but around here there’s about a million bicyclists who have no objection to riding out into the middle of the road in front of fast-moving traffic to go around parked vehicles. Also that parked vehicle could be someone changing a flat tire and walking around their vehicle, or present some other type of hazard. You don’t know why they are parked there, and if you’re driving at night you might not even see them until it’s too late. Obviously other people in your area want to know about these parked cars or they wouldn’t be reporting them.
If you want less information, why not switch to Google maps or OsmAnd?
Yes, that must be it! Wait a minute… isn’t that Trump’s line?
Then how come the NYT doesn’t equally cover the much more frequent recorded ramblings of Trump? Sure Biden has had some problems. Hell I frequently find myself rambling when speaking in front of a crowd and have to pull myself back on track and I’m nowhere near Biden’s age. However Trump does it pretty much at every single rally or other event he speaks at, so where’s the equal coverage of all these incidents? Where’s the calls to have Trump step down as mentally unfit and too old for office? It may not be fake news, but it is most certainly and overwhelmingly one-sided news.
Guess that makes me king of my own domain! 😆
Is there a way to do that??? I can’t find anything other than adding new words to a personal dictionary, but I do have an older version of android.
