Anker. Every time I buy one of their products, I’m impressed by the quality. It’s come to the point that I’m seeing knockoff brands inserting the Anker keyword into their product descriptions, hoping a search will put their product up in view.
I don’t have anything specific, but generally speaking those who idolize war have never seen the horrors of war. Speaking with veterans who have actually seen real combat is a good place to start.
A lot of celebrities became shitbags, unfortunately. The most disappointing IMO was JK Rowling. My sisters loved the Harry Potter universe, but soured on it after it was reveled Rowling was a huge nazi shithead.
Considering the fact that corporations make up about 70% +/- of all the solution and climate destruction, and the fact that politicians are bribed by said corporations to ignore the problem, there’s little we can actually do about it except voting.
but World of Warcraft is a bit intimidating for new players, just in terms of the scope and changing seasons.
Yup, can confirm. I left wow near the end of Burning Crusade and came back to it in the middle of Shadowlands. I was so confused. Plus, nobody talks anymore. Chat used to be lively, but now players seem inconvenienced and annoyed by strangers trying to start up a conversation.
I don’t recognize the game anymore and have no interest in continuing. I tried WoW classic when it came out and had a blast. Got through Northrend leveling and then left again.
Though it was used in a few games before, a Quake tournament and Half Life 1 cemented the use of WASD controls.
That’s all well and good, but let’s hope we see the fruits of this swing at the ballot box.
My future career as a welder. I’m currently in a paid apprenticeship and I’m stuck on the final qualification before graduation. Everything else was easy, but the copper-nickel to mild steel test keeps failing. I’m on my forth and final test attempt.
If I fail, there’s a real possibility I’ll be fired. It would be foolish of them to fire me as they’ve already invested a considerable amount of time, money, and training on me. But I don’t know if they’ll see reason, so I’m getting my resume ready for another job.
It shouldn’t be hard to find another job, this current one has already given me four years of on-the-job apprentice training experience. I just don’t want to leave this current job as I like it here.
Just Lemmy, Facebook, and YouTube if that counts. And my time on Facebook is slowly dwindling.
I was invited to go, but I’m rather busy with other things.
I guess it depends on what you intend to donwith the laptop as they’re not all built the same.
Wait… there’s a dark mode?

CNN — A Virginia man has been charged with making death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris and appeared in federal court on Monday.
According to court records, Frank Lucio Carillo made several threats against Harris, President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, several Arizona officials, and others on the right-wing social media platform Gettr.
In response to a subpoena, the FBI found 4,359 posts from Carillo “targeting various public officials,” including Harris.
In several posts, Carillo allegedly threatened to cut out Harris’ eyes and described various ways he wanted to kill the vice president, court records say.
“I will cut your eyes out,” Carillo allegedly wrote in one expletive-laden rant where he called Harris a “b*tch” and said he hoped she would “suffer a slow agonizing death.”
A number of similar posts are cited in court records, with graphic and detailed threats against the vice president as well as others, including one Islamophobic post in 2023 when he wrote that people should “go out with your guns and kill all Muslims.”
When FBI agents first arrived at Carillo’s house over the social media posts, Carillo asked if they were there “about the online stuff,” and said, “I posted it.” Carrillo, appearing to talk to himself, also said, “I guess I’m gonna need a lawyer,” according to court documents.
Federal agents retrieved two firearms from his home, including a pistol he bought in 2023 and a rifle purchased this year.
A hearing to determine whether Carillo will remain behind bars while awaiting a resolution in his case has been set for Thursday.
CNN is reaching out to an attorney for Carillo for comment.
