It’s the same playbook every time:
It’s a propaganda technique using repetition to foster familiarity, to simulate that there is a large-ish part of the population that thinks that way.

My personal experience has shown me that the average person calling a support hotline has just enough computer experience to move the mouse and type web addresses into the google search bar instead of the address bar of their browser. you definitely wont get a cohesive description of their issue out of them, and they wont be able to tell you what OS they are using. (i got answers like “Microsoft”, “HP” or “Internet Explorer” when asking)
There is no way in hell to guide them so you get specific error messages or fix the issue with them instructing them over the phone when their OS can look and feel a thousand ways and you can’t see their screen.
I personally don’t have an issue with researching why something doesn’t work, but i know about the importance of error messages and how they relate to the used software. But there is no way to guide someone like the described callers through that process when differentiating between the left and the right mouse button is already difficult.
i switched to a SearXNG instance a while ago and i am pretty happy with it!
look at https://searx.space/ to find one with a good response time for you and try out if theres something you like :-)
Since i’m a sucker for weird games and very bad at following simple rules i wishlisted your new game lol
Judges can have a little salami
Last Christmas is a close contender tho
I’m currently running 2 displays at 1080p (one HDMI, one DP) on a 3070TI. Idle TDP with just plain color is 37-40W, 2 different scenes with features like audio reactivity and mouse input @15FPS are 55-60W. They get paused automatically when a window is maximized (per display), the secondary display pauses additionally when i run a fullscreen/borderless window on the main display.
It is absolutely useless eye candy. I love it lol
ETA: They DO have over 15000 curated wallpapers, if you stick to that you can avoid the questionable content easily. if you look at it from this perspective, that’s worth the price of a small meal.
I agree, although i DID spend 5€ on wallpaper engine and i am very happy with it. (just know that our chinese friends are using the steam workshop for WPE to upload/download porn because most porn sites are great-firewalled lol, so take care regarding your filter settings)
Regarding Wallpaper Engine on KDE Plasma, since I switched to Linux a few days ago: here is the repo for the one KDE Wallpaper Plugin i found that worked fine on Nobara. Subscribe to the Wallpapers in Steam, point the plugin to the steam library, done. just know that there are some wallpapers not working yet, which makes plasmashell crash, but no biggie, change the wallpaper and restart plasmashell again.
yep, we’re back at “piracy is a service issue”
I had more the human aspect than the legal definition in mind when i thought about guilt.
i’m sure he knew it was illegal, but that knowledge often doesn’t help or just steps into the background when mental strain and pressures just get strong enough. I’m convinced that with working mental health care (and a social safety net thats worth a damn) a lot of those violent outbursts could be just not happening.
in the same vein i think that even if such an outburst happens, it is not per se indicative of repeat offenses, if the offender actually receives rehabilitation and not simple punishment (especially at such a young age) - in contrast to a career criminal who is used to the “life style” or someone who has a long list of violent behavior.
ETA: had time to read the complete article now. his was a crime of anguish and pain, who did not get help even when it was blatantly obvious what was happening inside of him.
even in those cases there is still the question if a person is capable of guilt, because noone with a normally working psyche would entertain the thought of such deeds. i would support up to unlimited detention in a high-security psychiatric care facility (in such cases probably with a minimum stay of 10-15 years), which gives the population the needed security and the perp at least a chance to become a valuable member of society again. capital punishment is just a +1 to the bodycount.
you forgot to mention thats just because noone wanted to sell them the tools to do so
So the US just starts importing the cars europe had for ages? thats hardly a frontier, it’s willful ignorance of an age old issue.
regarding the large download, there is a girl which is very fit and likes compression a lot which reduced the total download size to 38 gb, if that helps. also, you can reinstall from that as often as you like without redownloading.
too much circlejerking with his neonazi buddies
Nobara! switched 2 days ago, deleted my Windows partition 3 hours ago because it’s smooth sailing and quite the different experience compared to bashing my head against debian jessie ages ago.
Edit: the final nail in the coffin were the fking backported ads in the start menu. seriously, wtf.
“Arbeit macht frei” is one of the eternal slogans of those who want to run concentration camps.
You are right, but in the case of a Lithium battery fire the strategy is to use the large thermal capacity of water to cool the battery until the reaction is done.
I just remembered i can even name myself as a source when i fucked up and punctured my phone battery while disassembling it (those dumbasses used large amounts of adhesives to mount the battery and i wasn’t careful enough). I simply dropped it into a bucket of water and waited it out.
well, there’s a first time for everything. i just agreed the first time with an Iranian conservative.
