There might be a day when Microsoft caves and releases a Windows that is more like what we wanted, but I imagine it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

I thought that was going to be with Windows 10’s forced updates and telemetry, but people just stopped caring. I’m pretty much assuming that’ll be the same for the current batch of nonsense. I can’t imagine how bad it would have to get for the general public to say “enough is enough”.

I just type “Speak to a human” until it relents. Usually takes 3-4 times. Kind of the chatbot equivalent of mashing 0 on telephone IVRs. The only question of its that I answer, after it agrees to get a human, is when it asks what I need support with since that gets forwarded to the tech.

Hillary won the popular vote in '16 by several million, but we got Trump because of the electoral college and a swing state going for him.

Those are the people candidates are focusing on appealing to because they’re the ones that decide the election (and are a weak point in our democracy). And stamping ones feet and demanding to be catered to (or else they won’t vote), is selfish and short sighted when so much is at stake.

Until we get rid of or work around the electoral college, that’s basically the way it’s going to be (assuming we still have elections after 2024).

The non-profit I work for is pretty awesome, so I get election days off. Usually I vote first thing in the morning and then get hammered drunk (about the only times of the year I day-drink).

While traditions are fine and dandy, if you’re in my neck of the woods and need a ride to/from your polling place, I will stay sober and pick you up. No questions asked. If there’s time and you wanna stop at the grocery store on the way home, I’ll carry your groceries in for you. Whatever gets you out to the polls.

But I’m just so undecided. I mean, yeah, that sounds bad, really bad, but Biden is old and had one bad performance. Forget all the other recent events where he did well, I’m only able to focus on that one bad one. /s

Agreed. Instance blocking needs to be more granular. Blocking posts from one is great, but it doesn’t keep the peanut gallery there from brigading the comments.
