Once my family and some friends went out to a Mexican restaurant in Houston. The next day one of my relatives couldn’t find her expensive digital camera (this was in 2006 when average people still used digital cameras before smartphones). She claimed we were taking pictures with it at the restaurant. That wasn’t true at all; we took no pictures. Everyone at the table but her didn’t remember taking any pictures.
Soon after she calls the restaurant and starts yelling at the manager claiming that one of his employees stole the camera. She threatens to call the police and “border agents” because she assumes they’re all “illegal” immigrants.
The next day we find her camera in its bag hanging on a chair in our apartment where she left it before we ever went to the restaurant. It was hidden under a her jacket. No apologies to the restaurant. 🙄
Ah, I was thinking of canned mac n cheese which I tried once and the several times I tried different canned soups containing cheese. It didn’t taste like cheese and it wasn’t tolerable for me. That said I have enjoyed canned queso dip.
Canned anything with cheese tastes revolting from my experience.
Maybe. I’ve only known Snapchat used for sending pictures of one’s privates, which is quite direct now that I think about it.
I think it’s still used a lot for private messaging?
You’re not alone
Has XLOOKUP made its way into the non-subscription version? I’ve found it a lot easier and flexible to use than VLOOKUP.
How is he comparable to Neil? I’ve been listening to Michael Moore’s podcast off and on since 2020 and he’s only come across as humble and empathetic to me which is not how I’d characterize Neil.
Switch remaster has a motion controls option. I quite like it. Is that comparable to how it played on the Wii?
I use it on a Homepod Mini to toggle different lights and a fan. In my previous apartment I used it to control a window AC. Sometimes I tell it to pause my AppleTV if I can’t find the remote quick enough. I use it with FindMy when I lose my keys or bag or whatever else (I have a lot of AirTags). Other than controlling devices I mostly use it for weather reports and timers.
From my experience, touch typing and using all fingers (home row technique I think it’s called) is less common among boomers, especially men. Even in professional settings I’ve seen men peck at their keyboards with just their pointer fingers. The slowness of this technique might explain the use of abbreviations at the desktop?
fun fact: the length to width ratio of ISO 216, √2:1, is the same ratio as the tritone in an equal tempered 12-tone musical scale. If you fold A4 paper in half, you get a piece of paper with the same length to width ratio as before; analogously, if you invert a tritone, you get another tritone.
My mom was permabanned from Facebook in 2020 for constantly posting anti-vax nonsense so she just went to places like Gab and Parlor. 😑
I use the TouchID on my MacBook several times a day because it unlocks the password manager and wallet.
The country of Georgia has a Four Seasons Landscaping too?
